I envision audiobook clips ... author interviews ... book discussion guides ... background music to read by ... or maybe even Library podcasts. How about you?
Shotcodes... I'm keeping my eye on this technology. After reading about this a few months ago, I fell in love with the design possiblities (billboards and t-shirts, particularly).
In fact, I'd launch into using this on marketing pieces for our tech-savvy audiences now (the teen summer reading poster being my first thought), but until the technology is available to more than just two phone models (they're still working on that) it seems to have more potential to frustrate users than intrigue them. But it won't be long...
And here's a thought. Skip the idea of librarians sporting embroidered library logos on their shirts -- why not a cool, graphic Shotcode which ultimately directs the user to the latest book recommendation... or next week it's an event announcement... and next month it's an online scavenger hunt? Now that's a shirt I would wear on casual Friday!
